Aston Villa have a crucial run of games coming up with fixtures against Ipswich Town, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Crystal Palace. The Villains also have Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest and Manchester City on the horizon.

Villa are bidding to climb into a top-four spot between now and the end of the season while navigating the UEFA Champions League round of 16. The Villans need all hands on deck but have had a few injury setbacks.

Defender Ezri Konsa pulled up in the first half of the FA Cup win over Tottenham Hotspur. Konsa has battled recurring setbacks that have stalled his development.

However, Manager Unai Emery has revealed that the 27-year-old is working individually on the grass and may be available for selection in one week.

“Also, try to recover his skill and train with us to get confidence. Then it is to be consistent without injuries to train and play.”

Unfortunately, Amadou Onana’s return is unknown, as Emery says he could be back in action within one to three weeks.

The Belgian missed the win over Spurs. Onana had returned from injury the previous weekend, as Villa lost 2-0 to West Midlands rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers on February 1, but is now unavailable again.

Villa striker Ollie Watkins, who missed the weekend win over Spurs due to a groin injury, returns to the squad for Ipswich. He has been a massive miss and will provide some cutting-edge in attack.

Meanwhile, Tyrone Mings is also back after recovering from a knee injury, bolstering the Villa numbers.
