Aston Villa face Club Brugge in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie this evening.
Unai Emery’s side qualified for this stage automatically and next face surprise package Brugge. The Belgian side eliminated Atalanta in the play-off round and beat Aston Villa 1-0 during the league phase.
Villa head into the contest in positive mood. Marco Asensio scored twice in the 2-0 win over Cardiff City on Friday night as The Villans reached the FA Cup quarter-finals. Attention now turns back to Europe as Villa prepare to feature in the knockout stages of this competition for the first time since 1983.

Club Brugge, who are second in the Belgian Pro League, warmed up for the clash with a 1-1 draw against leaders Genk.
Marco Asensio and Marcus Rashford are set for European debuts. The duo have made an instant impact since joining on loan in the January transfer window. Asensio has four goals in six appearances, while Rashford created six chances during the win over Cardiff on Friday – the joint-most he has ever recorded in a game during his career.
There will be no place for Donyell Malen or Andres Garcia, however, who were not registered in the squad for the Champions League.
Pau Torres, Amadou Onana and Ross Barkley are all confirmed absentees, while there are doubts over Matty Cash and Tyrone Mings. Boubacar Kamara could come back into the team after making the bench against Cardiff.
Aston Villa predicted X: Martinez; Cash, Konsa, Disasi, Digne; Kamara, Tielemans; McGinn, Asensio, Rogers; Watkins.
