OneFootball Videos

Andre Onana 6 – Didn’t have an awful lot to do but made a key save when the score was 0-0.

Victor Lindelof 5 – Some really shaky moments that Athletic nearly capitalised on, but he made amends by producing a top-class block to keep out what seemed a certain goal.

Harry Maguire 7.5 – Sensational at both ends of the pitch. Solid at the back and demonstrated some brilliant footwork and delivery for United’s opener. Another impressive outing.

Leny Yoro 7 – Very effective on the right and was holding his own in the early stages of the match, when Athletic were applying pressure. His passing was on point and he didn’t put a foot wrong. His rise at United shows no signs of slowing down

Noussair Mazraoui 7 – Amazing stuff in the wing-back role, with Diogo Dalot unavailable due to injury. Excellent low cross which led to the penalty and the red card. Came close to scoring but his powerful effort struck the crossbar.

Casemiro 8 – Rolled back the years again and showed his class. Came up with a big header at the far post to set United on their way at the half-hour mark. Could have got more but he hit the post and headed just wide on another occasion. Dominated the midfield.

Manuel Ugarte 8.5 – Had a slow start with some sloppy moments on the ball, but he eventually found his rhythm and made a strong impact. Registered an assist for Casemiro’s goal and then a clever flick into the path of Fernandes for United’s third of the game. Could have got on the score sheet himself but his shot didn’t really trouble Julen Agirrezabala. Settled from there and never looked back.

Patrick Dorgu 6.5 – Offered United very good width and helped keep Inaki Williams quiet. Almost got an assist after he put in a good ball across the face of goal but Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho could not connect.

Alejandro Garnacho 7 – Dangerous throughout. United’s main source of threat early on and had a goal ruled out for offside. Used his body well, winning fouls in crucial positions.

Bruno Fernandes 9 – Stuck away his penalty and then scored again to put the game to bed and ensure United have one foot in the final.

Rasmus Hojlund 5 – A lot better tonight despite not getting on the score sheet.

Substitutes

Mason Mount 6 – Injected a lot of energy and made himself felt. A positive sub overall.

Matthijs de Ligt 6 – Helped United get over the line. Calm and composed. Picked up where Maguire left off.

Luke Shaw 5 – Did well during the few minutes he was on the pitch

Kobbie Mainoo 5 – Same as Shaw.

Amad 6 – Nice to see him back on the pitch after a lengthy period on the sidelines. Looked lively when he was on, doing some fantastic stuff on the edge of Athletic’s box. Times his return perfectly.
