La Liga giants Barcelona have initiated contact over a potential deal for highly-regarded Arsenal youngster Ayden Heaven.
That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who has on Thursday provided an insight into the situation.
Heaven, for those not familiar with his name, is an 18-year-old central defender long considered as a potential first-team star amongst those behind the scenes at Arsenal.
In turn, it represents a major source of concern for the Gunners that the Englishman’s contract terms with the club are due to expire in the summer.
The board in north London have long been working towards a renewal, but are yet to find an agreement with Heaven and his representatives.
And as much, it would appear, has opened the door for rival clubs to enter the fray.
As per a report from Fabrizio Romano, all of Manchester United, Barcelona and Eintracht Frankfurt have made approaches over Heaven’s signing.
It is Arsenal’s Premier League rivals United who are currently considered to be leading the race for the young stopper, though.
