The January transfer window will close next week and the final few hours ahead will be crucial for clubs attempting to get specific deals across the finish line. One deal that could get done would be involving Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford.

Last month, Ben Jacobs of Give Me Sport reported that while Paris Saint-Germain hasn’t made any fresh approaches for Marcus Rashford, the club’s sporting advisor, Luis Campos, is keeping a close watch on the situation.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has previously been in contact with Rashford’s representatives, but further discussions are unlikely unless the player shows a strong desire to move to Paris. This cautious approach follows Rashford’s decision to sign a five-year contract extension with Manchester United in July 2023.

Jacobs also noted that Rashford is weighing a potential move to La Liga, with Barcelona reportedly interested in signing him. However, financial constraints could make a transfer difficult, with a loan deal being the only realistic option—provided Manchester United is willing to cover a significant portion of his wages.

Are PSG still an option for Marcus Rashford?

According to TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey, Rashford isn’t willing to take a pay cut if he leaves the Premier League this month. However, Manchester United want most of his wages covered before agreeing to a loan deal.

The report also notes that Rashford has long dreamed of playing in Spain, with Barcelona as his preferred destination, while a move to PSG in France is also appealing. That said, unless the forward becomes available at a significant discount, a transfer to the Ligue 1 club seems unlikely.

Recently, TEAMtalk reported that the Premier League club values Rashford at around £50 million to £60 million as they look to raise funds while managing their transfer strategy.
