Barcelona star compares teammate Gerard Martín to defensive icon | OneFootball

Barcelona youngster Pablo Torre has moved to reveal his appreciation for the latest efforts put forth by teammate Gerard Martín.

Martín, for his part, was afforded his latest starting berth on Sunday, as Barcelona played host to Girona in a La Liga clash.

And, en route to an eventual 4-1 Blaugrana triumph, the Spaniard again proved himself a more than able stand-in for Alejandro Balde at left-back.

Martín enjoyed a fine outing on both sides of the ball, continuing to prove his many early-season doubters wrong.

And as alluded to above, one individual who was keen to add his name to the defender’s growing list of appreciators in the aftermath of Sunday’s victory was Pablo Torre.

After Martín took to his official Instagram account to unveil a photo of himself in action against Girona, Torre took to the comments to lightheartedly liken his teammate to one of the greatest stoppers of all-time:
