A fresh insight into the wellbeing of Barcelona star Marc-André ter Stegen has come to the fore online.

And, unfortunately for club and player alike, the news is of an altogether less than positive nature.

The name of goalkeeper Ter Stegen has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital since last night.

This comes after the German international suffered what appeared to be a serious injury.

Afforded a starting berth in Barcelona’s La Liga meeting with Villarreal, Ter Stegen was stretchered off in evident distress late in the first-half.

Ensuing reports point towards the 32-year-old as having picked up an injury in his right knee, which could prove enough to rule Ter Stegen out for the remainder of the season.

And, if the latest footage of the shot-stopper to have surfaced online in the aftermath of Sunday’s clash is anything to go by, then Barca’s no.1 does appear to be in a bad way.

As revealed by Directo Gol, whilst departing hospital last night, Ter Stegen was forced to make use of a wheelchair, unable to put any weight on his right leg:
