Barcelona tipped for surprise player swap deal with Liverpool | OneFootball

A head-turning potential player exchange between La Liga giants Barcelona and their counterparts at Premier League leaders Liverpool has this week been floated in the media.

The info comes courtesy of Relevo, and points towards Ronald Araújo and Luis Díaz as those involved.

Winger Díaz has of course long been touted as a potential arrival at Barcelona, with the Colombian considered the ideal profile to reinforce the Blaugrana’s left flank.

And now, it has been suggested that Deco and co. may have an ‘in’ when it comes to a summer deal for the player.

Amid ongoing uncertainty surrounding the future of Virgil van Dijk beyond the close of the campaign, Liverpool have allegedly earmarked Ronald Araújo as one possible replacement.

Should the Reds seek to take advantage of the reduced termination clause in the Uruguayan’s contract, valid until July 15th, then a swap deal could in turn be proposed by Barcelona.

Though talks surrounding as much have yet to be confirmed, it is ‘not ruled out’ that Araújo and Díaz could swap clubs this summer.
