There is no doubt that Lamine Yamal is the most exciting of the several promising youngsters that have made their way to the FC Barcelona first-team from La Masia in the last few years.

Since last season, the Spanish winger has established himself as one of the key parts of this Blaugrana team, despite still being only 17 years of age. During this time, he has shown his skills on the pitch and proven his quality beyond any doubt.

As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the game against Rayo Vallecano marked the latest achievement for the young forward, as he completed his 100 games in elite football. He played 83 of these 100 games with Barcelona, while the other 17 were played with the Spanish national team.

Yamal has been able to reach this number in less than two years since he made his debut with the Blaugrana first team under Xavi. The former coach of the Catalan team played the winger for the first time in a La Liga game against Real Betis on 29th April 2023, as he replaced Gavi for the last 10 minutes of a game that ended 4-0 in Barcelona’s favor when he was only 15 years old.

The Spaniard has started 60 of his 83 games with the Blaugrana first team so far. In his last season, Xavi fielded Yamal for 50 of the 53 games his side played throughout the season, while Flick has started him in 32 of his side’s 37 matches up to now.

Of his 83 games for Barcelona, 58 ended in wins, 11 in draws, and another 14 in defeats, while the youngster himself contributed with 18 goals and 20 assists in these games.

His biggest achievement in his professional career up to now remains his conquest of the UEFA EURO 2024, which he won last summer, playing all the matches for his Spain side, scoring 1 goal and providing 4 assists. Meanwhile, with the Blaugranes, he has a league and a Spanish Super Cup title to his name.

Individually, Yamal has seen his performances recognized by being awarded the Golden Boy Award and the Kopa Trophy, and also being named in The Best FIFA Men’s 11.
