Barcelona face Atletico Madrid in the second leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final this evening.
The return has plenty to live up to after a thrilling first leg. The two teams shared eight goals in a pulsating 4-4 draw to leave the tie in the balance at The Metropolitano.
Barcelona will arrive in the capital with confidence after a league win at Atletico since that fixture. Despite trailing 2-0, the Catalans fought back to claim a 4-2 win and precious points in the La Liga title race.
Hansi Flick’s side remain in pursuit of a treble, with a three-point advantage over Real Madrid in La Liga and an upcoming Champions League quarter-final against Borussia Dortmund.
Hansi Flick will be without Dani Olmo for the contest after the midfielder sustained an adductor issue in the win over Osasuna last week. He joins Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Marc Bernal and Marc Casado as confirmed absentees.
Andreas Christensen could return from his latest setback to make the squad, while Pau Cubarsi is also in contention despite missing the last two games. The teenager picked up a problem while representing Spain during the international break.
Barcelona predicted XI: Szczesny; Kounde, Cubarsi, Araujo, Balde; De Jong, Pedri, Gavi; Yamal, Raphinha, Lewandowski.
Atletico Madrid host Barcelona in the second leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final on Wednesday 2nd Apriol 2025. Kick-off in Madrid is 20:30 BST.
