A major update on the future of on-loan Barcelona youngster Vitor Roque has come to the fore on Sunday evening.
This comes amid the understanding that the Brazilian may well have played his final minutes in the colours of Real Betis.
Frontman Roque of course made the move to Betis last summer, as part of a season-long loan from La Liga rivals Barcelona.
The 19-year-old has since endured something of a hit-and-miss time of things with Manuel Pellegrini’s side, boasting seven goals and two assists in 32 appearances across all competitions.
Roque was introduced off the bench for his latest appearance on Sunday, as Real Betis emerged 2-1 victors at the expense of Getafe.
And, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then as much could prove to be the final time on which the Verdiblancos faithful see the young attacker take to the pitch in the club’s colours.
As per a report from Diario Sport, this comes with Roque on the verge of a permanent move back to Brazil, with Palmeiras:
‘In principle, Vitor Roque is expected to travel at the beginning of the week to join the Palmeiras discipline as soon as possible. This Monday all the documentation should be ready for review and subsequent signature.’
The transfer is expected to see Barcelona pocket a sum in the region of €25 million.
