At present, AC Milan are wounded, but they cannot tend to their injuries. Instead, they must get up and go again with another crucial game awaiting them.

This week will likely be viewed as make or break come May, and the past seven days have suggested as much. A chance for Milan to bring themselves back into the European picture, or the week that would end their hopes.

Last night, the Rossoneri fell to defeat against the Bologna, and despite some officiating controversy, the Diavolo are almost entirely to blame. Mistakes made at the Stadio Dall’Ara were not new ones, instead, it was a performance which has been seen so often this season.

Milan, again, did not do enough, and on Sunday against Lazio the same can not be said, and if it is, it could be the end for Sergio Conceicao as the Diavolo’s head coach.

Ahead of Sunday’s game against the Rossoneri, the Lazio head coach spoke to TMW, and Milan News have relayed his words.

How is Vecino? Will Provedel get his goalkeeping back?

“For the goalkeepers, you will see on Sunday. Vecino is a fundamental player for us, I repeat. When there are these injuries, you have to feel and understand the player’s feelings, the player is very close.

More Stories / The Match

“Yesterday he did almost all the training with us, I will talk to him. He won’t play from the start, but we’ll see if he can play in the match.”

How is Romagnoli? How do you judge the period of Noslin and Tchaouna?

“Romagnoli is better, he did recovery work yesterday and we’ll evaluate in the last two sessions but I think he’s on the mend. It was my choice beforehand because of that adductor discomfort, I preferred not to risk it.

“I would like to say a few words for Noslin and Tchaouna, I understand that in the recent past here there have been players in the role where you live for the goal. I see other content within the game, for me Loum had a good game.

“We have to support them all together, I still want to remember that the weight of the goal is not on the shoulders of the striker but of the whole team. They are two guys who have made an important contribution, I hope they can make the contribution of some of their predecessors from the past.”

How is Patric? What are his thoughts on Conceicao’s Milan side?

“Milan are a very strong team with impressive individuality. In the episodes, they are not lucky, especially in the match in Turin, they shot twenty times towards the goal. It’s a great challenge to be faced with an open mind because of the quality and strength of the opponent.

“Patric is better, yesterday he worked with the team and in the next two training sessions we will evaluate if there will be the possibility to start with us at San Siro.”

How has his Lazio side changed since the first leg on 31 August?

“There is still a lot of work to do, we played the August game at a high level, putting Milan in great difficulty for 40 minutes. We came out stronger from the first leg match, we need these games. It’s a long ride, we are in the most beautiful and important phase.”

How much has Milan changed since 31 August?

“It’s a strong team, to get to the Champions League you need to win games and Milan have all the qualities to do that. In January they changed players, strong players left and others arrived. They have crazy individuality, we have to work as a team and limit their individual qualities to a minimum.”
