Roma have finalized a pair of renewals lately but not the one with Mile Svilar, and some foreign teams, for instance, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and Newcastle United have started to take an interest in the talented goalie, Corriere della Sera reports (via Calcio News 24).

The shot-stopper currently earns €1M annually and requested a €4M salary. There’s a gap between that and the Giallorossi’s offer. The demand has surely gone up since the parties started bargaining a few months ago.

Roma will have to act quickly on the Svilar extension to prevent Bayern Munich and Chelsea from becoming threats in the summer. Manuel Neuer is 38, while the Blues have flip-flopped between Roberto Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen this season.

Previous reports suggested the player’s camp and the Giallorossi also disagreed on whether to insert a release clause in the new deal and eventually its value. The youngster has allowed 30 goals and made 85 saves. He ranks second in Serie A behind Vanja Milinkovic-Savic combining the two stats. He’s currently tied to the capital club until 2027.

The 25-year-old would be a full ‘plusvalenza’ since he joined as a free agent, but the team had struggled to find a quality goalie after cashing in on Alisson a few years back.

Our Take on Svilar, Roma, Bayern Munich, and Chelsea

The rumors were bound to start trickling in, as the matter should have been nipped in the bud a while ago. It has to happen before the summer, or the pressure will only intensify since the expiration date isn’t too distant. The officials should give in on the wages in exchange for no release clause or a sky-high one.
