After leading Lazio to another victory, Mattia Zaccagni was selected in the Best XI lineup of Serie A matchday 13 composed by Calciomercato.
The Biancocelesti skipper played an instrumental role in the 3-0 win over Bologna. His corner kick found the unmarked Samuel Gigot about the back post for the opener, and he then doubled his team’s lead after storming to the box from the left flank and sliding a cheeky shot into the bottom corner.
The 29-year-old was thus selected as the best left winger in the round, with the source noting how Italy boss Luciano Spalletti can no longer ignore his exploits. Zaccagni thus joins former Lazio star Joaquin Correa who emerged out of the shadows to put on a clinical display for Inter. The Argentine scored a goal and created another, while also hitting the woodwork twice.
Fellow Nerazzurri star Marcus Thuram was surprisingly snubbed in favor of Moise Kean despite scoring a brace and producing an assist. Nevertheless, his young brother Khephren made the list for a solid showing in the middle of the park in the underwhelming contest between Milan and Juventus. Yacine Adli and Morten Frendrup also made the cut.
Best XI of Serie Matchday 13 (4-3-3): Falcone (Lecce); Di Lorenzo (Napoli), Isak Hien (Atalanta), Yann Bisseck (Inter), Adam Masina (Torino); Frendrup (Genoa), Thuram (Juventus), Adli (Fiorentina); Correa (Inter), Kean (Fiorentina), Zaccagni (Lazio).
