Blackburn Rovers have mostly foreign coaches on their managerial hit list, apart from ex-Wolves boss Gary O’Neil, according to journalist Alan Nixon.
Rovers are currently sixth in the league and have a real possibility to end the season fighting for promotion at the end of the term.
John Eustace is heading to Derby County and it is not clear yet if his other coaches Matt Gardiner and Keith Downing will be in the dugout against West Brom tonight.
They want to keep their momentum going and have identified O’Neil, who was recently sacked by Wolves, as a candidate.
However, he is not the only candidate as the Blackburn Rovers’ management team have identified a host of foreign coaches alongside O’Neil.
Former Young Boys boss Raphael Wicky, who was close to joining West Brom, is under consideration.
The likes of George Boateng, Aitor Karanka and Carlos Carvalhal are potential options to take the Ewood Park hot seat.
Apart from O’Neil, all the candidates under consideration are outside the UK.
It is suggested that Blackburn could yet add to the list of options they are considering, but there is pressure to make a quick appointment.
