Midfielder Bruno Fernandes has recently been in scintillating form for Manchester United, scoring in the last five games across all competitions.

The Portugal international has been nominated for United’s Player of the Month and Goal of the Month awards for March.

The 30-year-old registered six goals and two assists in five appearances across all competitions, emerging as one of the club’s standout performers during the month.

Fernandes has been nominated alongside fellow midfielder Casemiro and centre-back Matthijs de Ligt.

He won the prize last month and could become the second player to claim it in consecutive months.

Forward Amad Diallo is the only player to have done so this season, winning it in December and January.

However, Fernandes would need to win it again to match Diallo’s record of scooping the prize three times this season.

Four of Fernandes’ goals have also been shortlisted for Goal of the Month.

His brilliant free-kick against Arsenal, powerful strike against Leicester City, third goal against Real Sociedad last Thursday, and effort against Fulham in the FA Cup fifth round have been nominated.

Forwards Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho also had goals nominated, alongside right wing-back Diogo Dalot, whose goal in the win over Sociedad made the shortlist.

Fernandes could also join Diallo as the only players to have won both the Player of the Month and Goal of the Month awards simultaneously.

The duo are among the favourites for the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award, although Fernandes has a stronger chance due to Diallo’s injury.

His current form could propel United to Europa League glory, further boosting his chances of winning the award for the fourth time since joining the club.
