Bruno Fernandes shines as Man United knock Leicester City out of the FA Cup | OneFootball

Bruno Fernandes played a starring role as Manchester United snatched a last-gasp victory over Leicester City in the FA Cup.

The Portuguese maestro had a quiet first half for his standards but he burst into life in the second half.

While the plaudits should mainly go to Alejandro Garnacho, Fernandes plugged away for his side as he always does.

The captain played the full 90 minutes and his biggest contribution came in the 93rd minute when his long diagonal free kick was headed home by Harry Maguire in front of a delirious Stretford End.

Fernandes was given a score of 8.2 on Sofascore for his night’s work.

He had 81 touches of the ball and completed 53 of his 64 passes, for a passing accuracy of 84%.

The captain made three key passes in the match but only one of his five crosses was met by a teammate.

The 30 year old was incredibly accurate with his long passing as he connected with 10 of his 14 attempts.

He didn’t have many shots as he was playing in a deeper midfield role as he had only one effort on goal that was blocked.

Fernandes contributed defensively, winning all five of his ground duels and made a total of four tackles.

He also made one interception and clearance to help his side out defensively.

The captain put in a disciplined display as he did not give away any fouls during the match, in spite of playing in the middle of the park.

Fernandes was also crucial in the last round as he scored against Arsenal and will undoubtedly play a vital role if United are to make it into the quarter finals next time out.
