Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has this afternoon confirmed some altogether positive personnel news in his squad.
This comes amid confirmation that Ferland Mendy is set to be available for the club’s upcoming showdown with Sevilla.
Defender Mendy, for his part, was of course condemned to a fresh spell on the sidelines earlier this month.
After featuring from the off in Real Madrid’s 3-0 La Liga downing of Girona, the Frenchman went to ground late in proceedings, with what appeared to be a muscular problem.
After being hooked from the action as a result, Mendy was put through an ensuing round of medical tests, which confirmed ‘a muscular injury to his right quadriceps’.
The 29-year-old, in turn, was widely expected to be ruled out until the new year.
It therefore came as a major surprise when, speaking in his pre-match press conference this afternoon, Carlo Ancelotti announced:
”Mendy is back to face Sevilla” on Sunday.
