Kylian Mbappé’s start at Real Madrid has been far from easy since his free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain this summer. The 25-year-old’s challenges in the Spanish capital seem to be piling up after a 2-0 loss to Liverpool.

His El Clásico debut on October 26 was a tough one, with Real Madrid suffering a 4-0 defeat to Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabéu. Just a few days later, the struggles continued as Los Blancos were beaten 3-1 by AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League.

On Wednesday, with Vinicius Junior absent, Mbappé had a chance to make an impact in his preferred role against Liverpool. Unfortunately, the match turned into a nightmare for the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner.

Mbappé not only missed a chance to score but also saw a key penalty saved in the second half, adding to his frustration. Despite the tough night at Anfield, both manager Carlo Ancelotti and former Real Madrid player Gareth Bale are confident that PSG’s all-time top scorer will bounce back from this challenging moment.

Ancelotti noted: “Mbappé has all of our support and he will soon turn the situation around. Mbappé is an extraordinary player, we must be patient. He’s doing well and adapting well. We are with him.”

Bale said: “It does happen. Do you know what I mean? I’ve missed penalties. Everyone’s missed penalties. It’s just unfortunate at the moment that it’s not quite going Mbappé’s way. But I think on his day, he’s the best player in the world. I think it’s just a matter of time before he becomes good.”

Eventually, the argument about adaptation will no longer hold, and people will start asking if Mbappé’s dream transfer could turn into a nightmare.
