Celtic will look to complete the signing of Jota this weekend before making a move for Mathias Kvistgaarden. The 25-year-old is set to make a sensational return to Celtic just eighteen months after leaving the club in a £25m deal.
On Thursday, Kyogo travelled to France to complete his move to Rennes but a report from Mail Online’s Stephen McGowan appears to suggest that Celtic are waiting to secure Jota’s return before sanctioning Kyogo’s exit.
Jota is not in Glasgow and is not expected to be able to make the trip across to Scotland until the weekend given the forecasted storm weather on Friday. McGowan says that Jota is likely to sign with Kyogo going the other way.
Celtic will need to look at bringing in a striker to replace the outgoing Kyogo and Mathias Kvistgaarden has long since been linked with a move to the Scottish Champions. The 22-year-old has netted 38 goals for Brondby in 109 games, which is why Brendan has been linked with bringing the player to Celtic.
Brondby are in a strong position if there is interest from Celtic for Kvistgaarden. The Danish striker is also subject to interest from Eintracht Frankfurt and could demand up to £10m with add-ons.
