The Football Association have now announced the team of match officials to oversee proceedings between Crystal Palace and Manchester City in the 2025 FA Cup Final.

The two clubs will battle it out at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 17 May for the final piece of major silverware available to English clubs this season after a strong run to the showpiece finale across numerous round since the turn of the year.

For the South London club, Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace dismissed of Stockport County in the third round at home before defeating Doncaster Rovers on the road in round four, before welcoming Millwall to Selhurst Park in round five to reach the quarter-finals.

That stage of the competition then saw Palace dismiss of Premier League rivals Fulham, before the semi-final stage at Wembley brought about a hugely impressive 3-0 win over Aston Villa to take on Manchester City in the Final.

As for Pep Guardiola’s side, they defeated Salford City, Leyton Orient, Plymouth Argyle, and Bournemouth en route to the Wembley last-four where they would play out a 0-2 win over Nottingham Forest to reach a third consecutive FA Cup Final.

Ahead of the meeting between Crystal Palace and Manchester City, the Football Association have now announced the list of match officials to oversee proceedings at Wembley Stadium!

Match Referee

The Football Association have confirmed that the honour of officiating the 2025 FA Cup Final between Crystal Palace and Manchester City has been handed to Premier League referee, Stuart Attwell.

The outing at Wembley Stadium will mark Attwell’s 30th game across all competitions this season, having officiated matches in the likes of the Premier League, Championship, UEFA Nations League, in addition to the FA Cup.

Across his 29 matches to date this campaign, the 42-year-old has issued a total of 119 yellow cards with a further two resulting in a second-bookable offence and dismissal, handing out one red card and awarding three penalties.

In matches involving Manchester City, the Etihad Stadium club have won 17 of Attwell’s 23 games, drawing just one and losing the other five, with the most recent contest involving both parties being in the FA Cup.

That came at the quarter-final stage of the competition as Pep Guardiola and his players jetted down to the south coast to overcome the stern challenge of Bournemouth and come away from the Vitality Stadium as 1-2 winners and with a place in the semi-final of the tournament.

Prior to then, Stuart Attwell’s last meeting involving Manchester City also came at Wembley Stadium, as he oversaw Arsenal’s FA Community Shield win over the Etihad club thanks to a penalty shoot-out prior to the start of the 2023/24 season.

Assistant Referees

Accompanying Stuart Attwell out on the pitch at Wembley Stadium for the FA Cup Final will be an experienced Assistant Referee pairing of Adam Nunn and Dan Robathan, the Football Association have announced.

The FA have also confirmed a Reserve Assistant Referee for the showpiece fixture which sees Craig Taylor appointed in the event of any late changes to the aforementioned trio.

Video Assistant Referees

Off the pitch and overseeing Crystal Palace against Manchester City from the VAR Hub will be Video Assistant Referee, Jarred Gillett accompanied by recently-retired Assistant Referee, Darren Cann in the role of Assistant Video Assistant Referee.

As for the game’s allocated Support Video Assistant Referee, the FA have handed the role to Michael Salisbury.

Fourth Official

Completing the team of match officials and standing on the ground at Wembley Stadium for Crystal Palace against Manchester City will be Fourth Official, Darren England.
