AC Milan and Inter have submitted a declaration of interest regarding buying San Siro and the surrounding areas, and the next steps have been outlined.
As reported this morning by the Milanese edition of Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews), Milan and Inter will have to present their offer to purchase San Siro and the land around it by the first quarter of 2025.
That is so they can arrive at July with the signing of the purchase contract and thus avoid the trap of the restriction on the second tier of the current San Siro that will come into force in October of next year.
The price of the area set by the Revenue Agency is €197m. The funds from the sale of the San Siro will be used to redevelop the neighbourhood around iit by the council, investing in the housing emergency and the redevelopment of the sports facilities on the outskirts.
The words from the Mayor Giuseppe Sala during the City Council meeting made it clear that this is very much a last resort from the administration to keep the two clubs in the area.

“We are hypothesising a path that will lead us to the conclusion of the sale by the summer. Concretely this means that within the first quarter we must receive the purchase offer with the updated feasibility plan,” he began.
“I await these documents because as we have seen, the path has been anything but linear. I hope that we have finally reached a shared solution and that it represents a fixed point.”
