The London outfit are looking for a new manager after the departure of Martí Cifuentes following the end of the regular campaign.

The Spaniard guided the Hoops to 15th in the table, an improvement on coming 18th in the previous season, albeit earning the same points total on both occasions.

Edwards is currently out of work and could be of interest to QPR, especially given his experience in leading Luton Town to the Premier League in 2023.

Goodman has suggested that a role like at QPR could be tempting for Edwards, who has been out of work since departing Luton in January.

However, he has raised concerns over why the club aren’t going forward, having begun the search for yet another new manager after an underwhelming campaign.

“It’s a tough question, isn’t it, with regards to Rob Edwards, or anybody else for that matter,” Goodman exclusively told Football League World.

“With everything that’s gone on at Queens Park Rangers over the last few seasons in particular, you wonder what’s wrong with the club, what’s going on behind the scenes.

“Why can’t somebody propel this club into the upper echelons, at least, of the Championship?

“I say that about a few teams, how attractive a job is it? Rob Edwards will be wanting to rebuild his career, his reputation and if an opportunity at Championship level arose again I would imagine it would be difficult for Rob to turn it down.

“So, maybe there’s the possibility it could be a match, but I’ll watch this space on that one.”

QPR finished the season 12 points adrift of the play-off places, winning 14 of their 46 fixtures in the league.

Edwards would be a solid appointment for QPR

Edwards’ time at Luton saw him guide them to Premier League promotion, but also led the side to a disappointing first half of the Championship campaign this year, which ultimately ended up in relegation to League One.

He will need to be careful with his next role, as another disappointing stint somewhere could do a lot of damage to a reputation that he’d done well to build up with the Hatters.

QPR are proving a difficult club to work with, as evidenced by their struggles against relegation and the high turnover rate of managers.
