Facundo Medina (25) will be allowed to leave RC Lens amid interest from Olympique de Marseille, as well as other clubs across Europe, according to a report from L’Équipe.

Marseille, as well as an unnamed English club, made an approach for Medina during the winter transfer window, but out of loyalty, the Argentine opted to remain with Lens. The Ligue 1 side had already lost Abukodir Khusanov and Kevin Danso during the January window and Lens were in need of an element of continuity in the back line.

However, Medina will be allowed to leave in the summer with the player also keen to take on a new challenge. He wants to take the next step in his career and notably wants to participate in European competition next season. OM remain interested in the centre-back and would like to partner him with compatriot Leonardo Balerdi.

Meanwhile, there is also interest from Crystal Palace, Bayer Leverkusen and AS Roma. Medina’s current deal with Les Sang et Or runs until 2028.
