Crystal Palace are ready to make a second bid for Liverpool winger Ben Doak, according to a report from the Daily Mail.

The Eagles had already submitted an opening bid of £15 million for the Scotland International, which was rejected immediately.

Alan Nixon of The Sun reported via Patreon today that Palace are looking to make an improved offer of around £20m for Doak, who has emerged as their top target.

Liverpool have set an asking price of £30m for the youngster, who is enjoying a terrific loan campaign at Middlesbrough.

The Eagles have money to spend in January and could make further concrete efforts to come close to Liverpool’s valuation of the player.

Doak has two goals and six assists in 21 appearances for Boro so far this season, and he has been in scintillating form for Boro.

The dazzling winger is hungry to play in the Premier League, ideally with Liverpool, but Palace can snap him up with a lucrative offer.

Difficult for Crystal Palace to sign Ben Doak this month

The Reds are happy with his progress under Michael Carrick, and they want him to continue his progress unless the club receive a massive bid for him.

Michael Edwards is known for selling players at a high price, and Liverpool are not going to offload Doak for anything less than the price quoted above.

West Ham United paid £25m to sign Crysencio Summerville from Leeds United, and Tottenham Hotspur paid £30m for Wilson Odobert, and Palace could be forced to come up with similar offers if they are serious about signing Doak.

Palace are also interested in signing El Hadji Malick Diouf, but they have had a £12.5m bid for the young left-back rejected already. Slavia Prague do not expect the Eagles to try their luck again this month to sign the defender.

The Eagles are also keen to sign Lens midfielder Andy Diouf, but an approach has been knocked back immediately.
