The Toon teenagers opened the scoring at the Moor Farm Training Centre courtesy of Fraser Harper's strike before Joe Brayson doubled the visitors' lead, with the 17-year-old forward scoring an eighth goal in his last eight league outings at under-18 level.

Michael Mills, who joined the Magpies from Port Vale last summer, extended United's advantage before the break against their Rams counterparts as Chris Moore's side recorded a fourth successive win across all competitions.

Newcastle's youngsters host their Blackburn Rovers counterparts at the Little Benton Academy in their next league fixture on Saturday, 8th February (kick-off 12:30pm GMT).
