Tottenham Hotspur have had a very challenging season in terms of injuries, and now a doctor has confirmed some terrible news about a Spurs player.

Tottenham have been hit with a major setback as summer signing Wilson Odobert faces a lengthy absence after undergoing surgery on his right hamstring.

The young French winger, who had been looking to make an impact following his move to North London, is now expected to be out of action until 2025.

Odobert's injury is a blow for both the player and the club, especially given the promise he showed in pre-season. Initially, Spurs had hoped to see him play a key role in their attacking setup this season.

However, the recent surgery has dashed those hopes, and Odobert’s recovery could take several months. According to sports injury expert Dr. Rajpal Brar, the winger’s return is unlikely before the new year.

Dr. Brar, who is a physical therapist and sports scientist, offered insight into the nature of Odobert's injury.

He clarified that this setback is not linked to the previous hamstring issues the player had encountered earlier in the season.

However, hamstring injuries can be tricky. Dr. Brar explained that the hamstrings are made up of several muscles, and if one muscle is strained, it can place additional strain on the others, potentially leading to further damage.

This type of injury and subsequent surgery typically requires a careful and extended rehabilitation process. Dr. Brar expressed his doubt that Odobert would be able to return to action before the end of the year.

He suggested that the 20-year-old winger would likely need several weeks to fully recover before he could think about making a return to the pitch.

Spurs’ plans affected

Tottenham’s squad depth will now be tested, as they will be without Odobert for an extended period.

With the January transfer window months away, Spurs may need to consider alternative options for their attacking options in the interim.

The injury is especially unfortunate for Odobert, who was hoping to establish himself as a regular part of Ange Postecoglou's plans.

Spurs fans will now have to wait patiently for his recovery, hoping that the talented youngster can make a successful return to action when the time comes.
