Dortmund boss Nuri Şahin names his favourite Barcelona player ahead of UCL clash | OneFootball

Borussia Dortmund head coach Nuri Şahin has on Tuesday opened up on whom he feels is the standout player in the squad of upcoming opponents Barcelona.

Dortmund and Barca are of course primed to lock horns tomorrow night.

As part of the latest round of Champions League fixtures, two of the continent’s most recognisable clubs will go head-to-head at Signal Iduna Park.

This afternoon, Dortmund headmaster Nuri Şahin, in turn, sat down for his pre-match press conference.

During as much, the ex-midfielder was drawn on a whole host of topics relating to his side’s upcoming opponents.

Perhaps the most noteworthy, though, came in the form of a question of Şahin’s favourite Barcelona player.

The one-time Dortmund star did not hesitate in pointing towards an under-fire member of Hansi Flick’s ranks in his response, confirming:

“Frenkie de Jong is my favourite Barça player.”

De Jong, for his part, will be hopeful of putting another outing to forget against Real Betis over the weekend firmly behind him at Signal Iduna Park in a little 24 hours’ time.

The Dutchman, though, is nevertheless expected to start on the bench in the clash.
