Let’s head into Christmas still on a high, Bhoys…

This afternoon sees Celtic take on Dundee United at Tannadice in our last game before Christmas. It’s a Noon kick-off at Tannadice and Celtic Supporters in our away support will be making their way to the City of Discovery with hopes high that Brendan’s Bhoys will put in a pre-Christmas show for them to enjoy.

After the highs of last week the players will be on cloud nine, but there’s also the danger we could suffer the proverbial post cup final hangover. Brendan will of course be well aware of that threat and will have the players ready for the challenge.

Jim Goodwin’s side will pose a real threat as they’ve been a pretty decent outfit this season and we’ll need to be on top of our game if want to re-establish our eleven point lead at the top of the table heading into Christmas. Everyone in Europe is already talking about theRangers moving up to second spot in the Scottish Premiership after yesterday’s 1-0 win over Dundee at an Ibrox where the number of empty seats was notable.

The former self proclaimed  ‘Most Successful Club in the World’ move on from the loss of that imaginary accolade yesterday by declaring that Ibrox was the Best Football Stadium in the World.

Anyway, back to Celtic. As good as our results have been recently we haven’t exactly been firing on all cylinders, and while it’s all about the result, a decent performance wouldn’t go amiss either.

One or two changes may be made by Brendan due to the influx of games looming, but I can’t see quite that many giving it’s a tough away fixture, so don’t be surprised to see a line up similar to the one that started the league cup final last week. Alistair Johnston will be rested, there may be one or two other doubtful due to the bug in the squad and we know that James Forrest will be missing until sometime in February.

Whatever side takes to the field at noon will have to fight for the three points. Let’s hope we are victorious and head into Christmas on a high.

Here’s my predicted  Celtic team to take on Dundee United, who have injury problems of their own with two of their strikers missing out today.

Celtic Predicted Line-up – Schmeichel; Ralston, Carter-Vickers, Trusty, Taylor; McGregor (c), Bernardo, Engels; Kuhn, Kyogo and Maeda.

Team news will be posted at around 10.45am and we’ll report on it straight away.
