Despite being reduced to 10 men, Kiel managed to add a fourth in stoppage time to condemn Dortmund to a 4-2 defeat, leaving them in 10th place and five points adrift of the top four.

Having overseen one win in seven competitive matches, Şahin is now facing a battle to keep his job at Signal Iduna Park, knowing he needs to spark an upturn in fortunes sooner or later. However, claiming all three points on Friday may be easier said than done given the fact they have won just one of their eight away league games this season (D2, L5). However, they do have the chance to complete a league double over Frankfurt after claiming a 2-0 victory in August’s reverse fixture.
