Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain amid his contract situation at the Anfield club.

However, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has now told Sky Germany they have no plans to sign the Egypt international.

The 32-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, and while Liverpool want him to stay beyond next summer, both parties have not been able to reach an agreement.

Salah is open to accepting a new one-year contract extension at the Merseyside club, but he is growing increasingly exasperated at the club’s handling of negotiations.

The Liverpool forward is entitled to sign a pre-contract agreement with a club outside England from January 1, and while PSG are reportedly one of the clubs keen, their president has revealed that is not the case.

Salah wants his new deal to reflect his status as the most important player at the club, but the Reds believe he could soon be past his peak as he will be 33 next June, and they are wary of handing him an improved financial package.

He has bagged 13 goals and 11 assists in 20 games this term and is not showing any sign of slowing down anytime soon.

Salah has 224 goals and 100 assists in 369 appearances for the Merseyside club, and he deserves to be the highest-paid player in the Premier League, but it remains to be seen if he will get his wish.

Liverpool will need to reach a compromise with Salah in the coming months if an agreement is to be found.
