AC Milan are reportedly in the market for a midfielder, and considering negotiations are likely to take place with AS Roma about Alexis Saelemaekers, Lorenzo Pellegrini could be a player of interest.
Roma are looking to undergo a bit of a transformation, and several players have reportedly been made available. Included in that list was Pellegrini, who has been hit-and-miss for the Roman club this season.
Despite this, Claudio Ranieri has stated that is unlikely that he will leave mid-season, but he has not denied that an exit could occur in a recent interview with ANSA, relayed by Milan News.
“Can Pellegrini leave Roma in January? Everything is possible in the world of football, but I don’t think so. If a team comes he is happy to go… but that goes for everyone. My feeling, however, is that he honestly won’t leave.”
Considering the Giallorissi have already suggested a deal including Bryan Cristante in the deal for Saelemaekers, there is a possibility that the Rossoneri look at Pellegrini instead, especially considering he was previously considered by the club.
The midfielder is strong as a No.10 or even as a deeper midfielder, so he could arrive and challenge for a starting shirt, or provide a strong backup for Tijjani Reijnders.
