Witek will spend the next five months travelling before heading to university to begin her studies.
The goalkeeper has been a key part of the Brentford backline since joining the club in 2023.
She featured in the team which went on to win a cup double in the 2022/23 campaign. One of her proudest moments was wearing her Brentford shirt with 'Witek' printed on the back for the first time at Gtech Community Stadium.
Talking prior to her departure, she said: “It’s been an absolute honour to represent Brentford, and it has been great to be a part of such an amazing group of players and staff.
“After leaving school I decided to take a gap year and during this time I’ve been able to put my full focus into Brentford Women.
“Going travelling and exploring more of the world has always been something that excites me, so I can’t wait for this next adventure, and I thank the club for their full support in my decision.
“I think this is the best time for me to take this opportunity and Karleigh has given his support by saying that when I return, I’m still able to join the team.”

Brentford Women head coach Karleigh Osborne explained Witek’s importance to the team and said she will be missed: “Evie has been one of our most consistent performers in her time at the club and a brilliant character in the changing room.
“We would like to wish Evie all the best as she goes away on an exciting new adventure, the doors will always be open for her to come back into the squad.”
