Josep Martinez feels that “San Siro is difficult for everyone” ahead of Inter Milan’s Champions League second leg against Barcelona.

The Spaniard spoke to InterTV, via FCInterNews, after this evening’s Serie A clash with Hellas Verona. He also gave his thoughts on the win and clean sheet.

Inter Milan took on Hellas Verona in Serie A this evening. They got a win that just about keeps their title hopes alive.

However, there is little doubt that the Nerazzurri will have been preoccupied by the matches that they’ve been playing either side of tonight’s league outing.

On Wednesday, Inter played out a thrilling 3-3 draw with Barcelona in the Champions League semifinals. And that was just the first leg of the tie.

This coming Tuesday, the Nerazzurri host the Blaugranas for the second leg.

And after the first leg result and performance, Inter will feel that there is every chance that they can book their place in the final.

That would be the second Champions League final in the space of just three seasons for Inter.

Inter keeper Josep Martinez gave his thoughts on the second leg against Barcelona. “We’ll have to give it our all,” he said. “And prepare well for it.”

“We know that they’re a very strong team. But we’ve also shown that we’re at that level.”

Martinez hailed the Blaugranas’ “great talent.”

“But we’re playing at home. And we know that it’s not easy for anyone to play here at the San Siro.”

Meanwhile, Martinez gave his thoughts on the win over Verona. “Today was a very important match,” he said.

“We made a lot of changes to the starting eleven. And it was essential for us to show the coach that we’re ready when he needs us.”

Martinez was one of a whopping ten changes to Inter’s starting eleven from the first leg against Barcelona on Tuesday.

“Now we’ll try to win all our matches, and then hope that Napoli drop points at some stage.”

And of Inter’s clean sheet against Verona, Josep Martinez said that “not conceding was very important for us to regain our confidence.”

“We hadn’t won two league matches, and we immediately tried to get our goal.”

“Now we’re focusing on Tuesday,” Martinez added. “And the other matches to come.”
