Antonio Cassano at match officials for refusing to give Inter Milan a penalty for Strahinja Pavlovic’s tackle on Marcus Thuram.

In the latest episode of Viva El Futbol via FCInter1908, Cassano offered his verdict on a scandalous Derby della Madonnina refereeing.

AC Milan held Serie A title bidders Inter to a controversial 1-1 draw in Sunday’s derby fixture at the San Siro.

Stefan de Vrij bagged an equalizer in the second-half stoppages to cancel out Tijjani Reijnders’ first-half opener.

However, Inter dominated proceedings and deserved more than just a point.

Indeed, Simone Inzaghi couldn’t believe his eyes as Inter hit the woodwork three times in the second half.

As if that wasn’t frustrating enough, referee Daniele Chiffi failed to penalize Pavlovic’s clear foul on Thuram in the box.

Furthermore, Daniele Doveri refused to intervene from the VAR booth, leaving the Nerazzurri boss in disbelief.

Consequently, Inzaghi blasted the officials in the post-match conference.

However, unfavorable decisions against Inter keep piling up.

“If I go ask Milan fans if they’re happy with Milan’s performance, they’ll be tearing their hair out,” Cassano slammed Milan.

“I can’t stand seeing Milan playing with a 5-4-1 defensive block, scoring off a half-mistake from Sommer.

“The ones who should have regrets are Inter. I had the impression that sooner or later, the Nerazzurri would break through.”

Then, he commented on Chiffi’s mistake.

“I’m speaking to Rocchi: come here and explain it to us, without taking us for fools.

“How can you not give a penalty like that to Thuram? Who decides? Are they acting in bad faith or just incompetent? Why can’t VAR intervene?

“I’m starting to think something strange is going on. Are they in bad faith? Incompetent? I don’t know.”

Finally, Cassano insisted Inter should’ve taken all three points.

“Going back to the match, for Inter, these are two points dropped.

“I like De Vrij and Pavard, but they’re struggling on the left side. But in the derby, Inter deserved to win.”
