Real Madrid star Luka Modrić has this weekend been urged to link back up with former club Dinamo Zagreb for the close of his legendary career.
Modrić, for his part, is contracted to Real Madrid through the close of the current campaign.
This comes after the veteran midfielder was afforded a fresh one-year renewal in the summer of 2024.
Now 39, and with competition always mounting for places in Carlo Ancelotti’s Real midfield, though, it has long been rumoured that the current season could well mark Modrić’s last in Spain’s capital.
And, should as much prove to be the case, the former Tottenham Hotspur man looks set to have an offer to extend his playing days, back in his home country.
Speaking during an interview with Radio MARCA on Saturday, Dinamo Zagreb head coach Nenad Bjelica was drawn on the possibility of Modrić returning to play his club trade in his home country of Croatia.
And Bjelica did not hesitate in responding:
“Luka Modrić back to Dinamo? Who wouldn’t like to have Modrić in their team? I hope he will finish his career at Dinamo Zagreb.”
