Fiorentina have provided an update that Edoardo Bove is “awake, alert, and oriented” after his health scare against Inter Milan.
La Viola took to Twitter to release a brief update concerning the 22-year-old’s condition.
Bove had a shock medical emergency during yesterday’s match between Fiorentina and Inter.
The Italian international was in the Fiorentina starting eleven. He played the first fifteen or so minutes of the match, but then collapsed away from the action.
Bove fell unconscious. Despite first aid and efforts to revive him, the Viola midfielder did not regain consciousness in the stadium.
Therefore, an ambulance transported Bove to hospital, where he has received further treatment.
Bove’s condition reportedly improved yesterday.
The 22-year-old regained consciousness. Furthermore, tests determined that he had not suffered any permanent neurological or cardiological damage.
Of course, that is not the only aspect of Bove’s condition that is a worry after the Fiorentina player had been unconscious for a lengthy period.
But according to Fiorentina, Bove has recovered on a cognitive level.
The Tuscan club made the announcement:
“ACF Fiorentina has announced that Edoardo Bove, following an uneventful night, was awakened and extubated this morning. He is currently awake, alert and oriented.”
