Former Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard could find himself back at Crystal Palace earlier than anticipated. The French forward signed a season long loan deal with The Foxes but now Steve Cooper has been replaced by ex-Man Utd striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy as manager.
As reported by Football Insider, Leicester could cancel the loan agreement between the clubs as both look to avoid the drop to the Championship.
Edouard was not included in Van Nistelrooy’s matchday squad for their midweek clash with West Ham. The 26-year-old is clearly behind Daka, Ayew and veteran hitman Jamie Vardy and that’s reflected in his four appearances since joining.
Edouard left Celtic in the summer of 2021 having scored 87 times and assisted 39 times for the club since arriving in a £9m deal back in 2017. Initially signed on a season-long loan, Edouard went from Celtic’s third choice behind Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths to a mainstay in the starting XI. He scored a brace as Celtic beat Rangers 5-0 to win 7IAR and conjured up some incredible moments during his time in the Hoops.
It will be interesting to see whether Edouard leaves Leicester City next month and where he ends up if he does. Van Nistelrooy will be eager to get his own signings in the door and
