Francs Borains have announced that Irish midfielder Matthew Healy has left the club after two seasons. The 22-year-old central midfielder has earned a move to Shamrock Rovers, meaning he will swap the Belgian second tier for European football. The Irish club are still in the Conference League and face a knock-out tie against Norwegian side Molde in the next round.

Healy came through the Ipswich Town academy but never made an appearance for the now Premier League side. Instead, he left the club to join Cork City in the Irish league. In two seasons for Cork he played 42 games and scored six goals. During that time he also earned caps with the Irish U21 side. In the summer of 2023 he joined Francs Borains in the Belgian second tier after their promotion the previous season. During his first season with the club he played 29 games, scoring four goals. This season he had already played 14 before leaving this January for Shamrock Rovers.
