Real Madrid’s comebacks in the UEFA Champions League have gone on to define the competition over the years and their title as the kings of the event is more than deserved.

Last season, they were once again on the brink of elimination on multiple occasions, but unexpected stars cropped up and propelled them deeper into the event at every stage.

One such individual who had a critical role was Joselu who netted two goals off the bench to help pioneer Los Blancos’ comeback over Bayern Munich and seal a place in the finale.

Joselu’s thoughts on the UCL game

The former Real Madrid star spoke to the media earlier this week about a possible comeback for the Merengues against Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League, and he more than believed in his former teammates to get the job done.

“There is one team in the world that can achieve it and it is Real Madrid,” said Joselu.

“It was clear that last week, everyone on the planet considered Madrid eliminated, and every time the game is approaching people are doubting a little more,” he added on Real Madrid’s aura and history of comebacks.

Elaborating on what made Real Madrid so dangerous, especially at Santiago Bernabeu, the veteran striker said:

“I think Madrid have something special, especially at the Bernabeu.”

“I think the game will be marked a little by an early goal and from there the Bernabeu pushes and then you know what happens. We all trust and hope that Madrid passes the phase,” he added.
