The aftermath of Adrien Rabiot’s return to the Parc des Princes rages on this week, after the player was the victim of insulting and offensive banners aimed at him, his mother, and his father who died in 2019. During the game there were offensive banners aimed at Rabiot, notably one which read “Loyalty for men, betrayal for whores – like mother, like son.” The France international was copiously at every touch of the ball on his Parc des Princes return. After both Olympique de Marseille published a club statement on the matter, Rabiot’s mother Veronique announced she would be seeking to pursue justice against PSG and their supporters. Marseille mayor Benoît Payan and French Football Federation president Philippe Diallo then joined a wave of solidarity, which has now extended to several players in the France camp who have expressed their support in greeting Adrien and Veronique Rabiot this Monday at France’s first training session at Clairefontaine this week. According to a report from RMC Sport, Lucas Digne, Bradley Barcola, and Jonathan Clauss as well as Didier Deschamps and his staff made a gesture to greet Veronique to show a support for the France international’s mother.GFFN | George Boxall
