After Manchester United's Premier League winless run stretched to six games on Sunday, head coach Ruben Amorim insisted that changes must be made.

He watched his side follow up an impressive 3-0 win against Athletic Club in Bilbao in their Europa League semi-final first leg by losing 4-3 away to Brentford.

"It was a reflection of our season. We started well and controlled well, we suffered with the set pieces and throw-ins so we knew we would struggle against them," he told reporters.

"They (players) have to understand we cannot do this anymore, we know the context of the season and we need to change that.

"It is really important to understand we can't do this. [Young players] need to understand what it means to play for Manchester United and I think we can help them even more.

"There are small things we can do but overall, I'm really happy with the performance of the young kids."

The side which played against Brentford had an average age of 22 years and 270 days - the third youngest ever for a Premier League fixture.
