Vinicius Junior was the star performer for Real Madrid as they secured a narrow 3-2 victory against Manchester City last night.

It was a crucial win for Los Blancos, who will head into the second leg at Santiago Bernabeu only requiring a win.

Although Vinicius did not find himself in the scoresheet, his overall involvement in the attack was quite significant, with the forward notably assisting Jude Bellingham’s late equaliser.

Vinicius commits long-term future at Real Madrid

Speaking to TNT Sports after the game, a joyous Vinicius talked about his future at the club, especially amid interest from Saudi Arabia.

The forward notably left the door wide open for a renewal at Real Madrid, stating (h/t Diario AS), “God willing, the negotiations will be resolved in the next few days and I will be able to stay here for much longer.”

Vinicius’ statement is quite significant for Real Madrid, given the way Saudi Arabia has grown bullish when it comes to getting their hands on the Brazilian.

Indeed, Vinicius Junior is Saudi Arabia’s biggest target right now, as they look to brand him as the face for the country’s football development and the 2034 FIFA World Cup.

But unfortunately for Saudi Arabia, it appears Vinicius is distancing himself from a potential move away from Real Madrid.

In the same interview, the forward was asked about the speculation linking him with a move to Saudi Arabia.

“I don’t know anything, nobody has spoken to me,” Vinicius replied, in what was a clear indicator that he does not want to associate himself with the idea of Saudi Arabia move.
