The photo that Newcastle United fans had all really really wanted to see today.
United dominating and only a stop-start opening half preventing proper momentum building up.
Despite that, United went in 2-0 up and Murphy almost made it 3-0 just before the break, only the post saving Brentford.
However, Tonali had already done the damage, with two quality finishes.
Just like Saturday, Newcastle could and should have scored twice as many goals than they ended up doing, the woodwork saving Brentford once again in the second half but Bruno setting Schar up for a tap-in to finish it as a contest.
An added time consolation for the visitors was more than they deserved on the night.
Another winning snapshot post-match.
Another photo = The ninth of this season.
The Newcastle United Head Coach introduced this tradition of a post-match everybody included photo following each victory, as he felt it had worked as a bonding exercise when he was at Bournemouth.
(It is actually the tenth victory of the season for United but for whatever reasons, no winning photo after the win over AFC Wimbledon. Can only guess winning 1-0 at home to League Two opposition might have looked a ‘little’ lame.)
So only having to wait four days since the win against Leicester, we now have another winning photo above.
Great to see.
It is also a massive bonus just how much it winds up fans of certain other clubs and journalists.
‘Look at them, think they have won the Premier League / Champions League… etc etc’
I absolutely love it.
Twenty two more Premier League games to go, as well as fingers crossed plenty more cup matches, so hopefully many more of these photos to come.
