Fabian Schar and Bruno Guimarães are suspended, while Nick Pope, Emil Krafth, Jamaal Lascelles, and Callum Wilson remain absent through injury. Anthony Gordon will be assessed ahead of the match, following his facial injury at Tottenham Hotspur.
The Gunners will be without Takehiro Tomiyasu, Ben White, Raheem Sterling, Ethan Nwaneri, and Bukayo Saka through injury.
Kai Havertz has missed the last two Premier League matches through illness.

This is only Newcastle’s third appearance in the League Cup semi-finals, but they’ve progressed to the final in each of the previous two (1975-76 vs Tottenham, 2022-23 vs Southampton).
Newcastle have lost just one of their last 15 matches in the League Cup (W10 D4), going down 2-0 to Manchester United in the 2023 final. However, one of those four draws resulted in a shootout loss to Chelsea last season.
Arsenal have won all four of their League Cup meetings with Newcastle, scoring 12 goals and conceding none. The last such match saw the Gunners win 4-0 at St James’ Park in the 2010-11 fourth round.
