An insight into the kind of sum being sought by Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. to renew his contract with the club has on Tuesday been provided.

Wide-man Vinícius, for his part, has long been locked in talks with those in the boardroom in Spain’s capital, over the possibility of renewing his contract terms.

To date, no definitive agreement has been reached, giving rise to speculation surrounding a potential incoming departure for the Brazilian.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Vinícius himself, though, reiterated that his intention remains to stay put for the long-term:

“I’m very calm because I have a contract until 2027 and I can’t wait to renew it. This is the best place to be. I play with the best. I’m very happy.”

And as alluded to above, on Tuesday, an insight into the financial demands laid out by the 24-year-old and his entourage during negotiations has been provided.

As per a report from Diario AS, Vinícius currently earns a sum, including bonuses, in the region of €15 million-per-year.

The hope of the attacker is now to push this figure closer to the €20 million mark for the years ahead.
