Robert Lewandowski has improved a lot of things at Barcelona since joining the club from Bayern Munich a few years ago.

One of them has been the efficiency he has added from penalty kicks, with the forward boasting an exemplary record from spot kicks during his Barcelona career so far.

Lewandowski’s brilliant numbers from penalties

This season, Lewandowski has been clinical from penalties, scoring seven of the eight penalties he has taken so far.

His only miss came in a dominant 5-1 victory over Villarreal, where he struck the left post after deceiving goalkeeper Diego Conde.

Since joining Barcelona in the summer of 2022, Lewandowski has successfully converted 13 of the 15 penalties he has taken, resulting in an impressive success rate of 86%.

The veteran’s first miss for the club came against Almeria in his debut season, when he sent his shot wide of the post in a match that also marked Gerard Piqué’s farewell at Spotify Camp Nou.

Beyond his time at Barça, the 35-year-old has been equally consistent throughout his career, converting 88 penalties with only 10 misses across club and international football.

His signature penalty style, often employing a slight pause before striking the ball, has made him an unpredictable and formidable taker from the spot. And this has only aided Barcelona, who have emerged as arguably the most dangerous attacking team in Europe this season.

Lewandowski, to that end, has been at the forefront, with 32 goals scored in 34 matches even at the age of 36.

One can only expect the Pole to further spruce up his goalscoring tally as he gears up for the most crucial part of the campaign.
