Always interesting to get an outside perspective and these season ratings so far for all 19 Newcastle United players (to feature in PL matches) come from WhoScored.

The whoscored ratings use data from every single Premier League match, over 200 raw statistics included in the automated calculation of a player’s rating, weighted according to their influence within the game.

Every event of importance is taken into account, with a positive or negative effect on ratings weighted in relation to its area on the pitch and its outcome.

Now whoscored have published season ratings so far for all Newcastle United players in Premier League matches in the 2024/25 season (number of PL starts and then in brackets number of sub appearances), from top to bottom…:

7.04 Anthony Gordon 10 (0)

6.96 Lewis Hall 8 (3)

6.92 Nick Pope 11 (0)

6.91 Alexander Isak 9 (0)

6.83 Bruno Guimaraes 11 (0)

6.82 Joelinton 11 (0)

6.77 Harvey Barnes (5 (6)

6.64 Dan Burn 11 (0)

6.63 Kieran Trippier 3 (2)

6.57 Fabian Schar 9 (0)

6.53 Sandro Tonali 4 (5)

6.53 Tino Livramento 8 (3)

6.49 Emil Krafth 2 (1)

6.44 Sean Longstaff 6 (4)

6.43 Jacob Murphy 6 (3)

6.34 Joe Willock 3 (6)

6.27 Lloyd Kelly 3 (4)

6.08 Miguel Almiron 1 (4)

6.02 Will Osula 0 (4)

I think that those towards the top end of the whoscored ratings, most fans would agree that they have had good starts to the season.

As for those lower down, I think personally that the likes of Fabian Schar and Tino Livramento have done better this season than their placing/ratings suggest.
