A leading member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid on Friday took a significant step forward in his recovery from injury.
The player in question? Eduardo Camavinga.
French international Camavinga, for his part, is yet to take to the pitch in a competitive setting this season.
As much comes after the 21-year-old suffered a knee injury in training in the buildup to Real Madrid’s European Super Cup showdown with Atalanta last month.
Speaking during a press conference on Friday morning, boss Carlo Ancelotti confirmed that Camavinga is inching towards a return.
And, as alluded to above, in the time since, excitement surrounding the former Stade Rennais talent’s comeback has kicked up another notch.
This comes after Camavinga’s recovery work took a major step forward.
As per a report from Manu Amor of Relevo, the midfielder was spotted back on the grass for the first time earlier today.
Camavinga is yet to link up with the rest of Real’s squad at Valdebebas, but the understanding is that the Blancos coaching staff are hopeful of the Frenchman being available to at least take his place on the bench in next weekend’s Madrid Derby showdown with Atlético.
