Inter Milan midfielder Kristjan Asllani feels that the criticism he’s received at the Nerazzurri has been “exaggerated.”
The Albanian international hit out while speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInterNews, after today’s Serie A win over Venezia.
Asllani started for Inter in today’s Serie A clash with Venezia.
The 22-year-old started at the base of midfield, with Calhanoglu absent due to injury.
Asllani had his role to play dictating the tempo in his holding midfield role. It was a tough match against a Lagunari team who really looked to deny Inter space in the centre of the pitch.
However, Asllani showed that he could cope in those circumstances.
It is always important for Asllani to take advantage of opportunities when he gets them.
The former Empoli midfielder is far from a regular starter. The importance of Hakan Calhanoglu to the team means that the Turk does not drop out of the lineup that often.
And moreover, Asllani has not always received the most positive reception for his performances when he has played.
Asllani noted that “A lot is said about me every time I play, I’m used to it.”
“I’ve learned by now. The same thing happened after the match against Monza and the derby.”
“I’ve deleted all social media,” Asllani noted. “And I don’t read much.”
“I’m happy to have so many guys here who are always behind me and believe in me.”
Asllani said that the criticism of him has been “exaggerated.” “But it’s no problem.”
“In fact, it’s better. It charges me up.”
“Today we had to prepare for this match and recover our morale,” Asllani said of facing Venezia after the Supercoppa Italiana final loss against AC Milan.
“I’m glad we did so. It was important to get the three points, and we’re happy about it.”
“Losing the derby certainly hurt us,” Asllani continued. “But we have important matches ahead of us.”
“It was important to cancel that match out and start again from today.”
“We’re happy to have won because it was a dangerous match. We’re moving forward.”
